Writers League of the Villages (WLOV)
WLOV was founded in 2011 in The Villages, Florida, to serve the interests of
Villages writers, published and unpublished.
In 2019, WLOV became a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and is currently establishing a scholarship program to benefit writers.
Our goals are to:
1) Further education of our writers on all aspects of the craft, including editing,
self-publishing and marketing
2) Foster an environment of promoting published works of our authors through networking and special events.

WLOV accomplishes our goals via monthly speakers, presentations, special writing seminars, an annual Book Expo, our website, and a monthly newsletter with information of interest to all resident authors. We also maintain a picture catalogue of books recently published by members, the covers of which are displayed in the slide show at left. We are not a critique group, but many of our members belong to one or more of the Villages’ several writing critique groups.
All Villages residents and guests are invited to come to our monthly meetings. To join and receive our emails and newsletters, plus discounts for special seminars and other paid events, the fee is $20/year
Meetings are the second Wednesday of every month (except June and July) at Laurel Manor Recreation Center from 9:00-11:00 a.m.

Special Events
WLOV loves to hold Special Events! In 2019 we held our first ever "Meet-Your-Character Fair" where 15 professionals sat with members to describe details of their professions to be used as characters in books. WLOV also invited the public to meet all 10 other writing groups in The Villages.
